A senior engineer at Graves-Meyer Steelworks, Geargrinder Isidor Armbruster is known by his coworkers as a soft-spoken and unimpressive man. Though he is skilled as an engineer, his chronic stuttering, low self-confidence, and messy appearance lead to him often being overlooked by his peers, and many of his breakthroughs have been mistakenly attributed to his coworkers. He tends to have bothersome work the other engineers don’t want to do thrust upon him, which is why he works closest with GMS’s test pilot program of its staff. Though his poor people skills make him ill-suited to the task, and the test pilots rarely have more respect for him than his own coworkers, he perseveres without complaint… perhaps in large part because few would even listen to him if he did.
