Daughter of Deathkeeper Reyva Caldwell and the deceased Gutripper Madison Caldwell, Lily Caldwell is set to follow in her mothers’ footsteps as an Imperial soldier. Of her siblings, she takes the most after Madison, willful and obstinate, with difficulty empathizing with others. However, due to a childhood full of love and care that her mother had been denied, she has a softer edge, more willing to open up about her emotions and struggles, albeit reluctantly. Though she may be standoffish and difficult for others to get along with, at her heart is a well-meaning child doing her best. Because of this, she idolizes Kingslayer Bowen Stark, who by all accounts grew up similarly socially stunted to herself, yet still became a soldier of renown.
After a hospital visit to Bowen in the wake of the mission to Paracelsus, the Kingslayer has taken it upon himself to mentor Lily, in hopes of keeping her from her mother’s cruel fate– and potentially off the battlefield altogether.
