“ | Well, I hope to continue pleasantly surprising you, Heartbreaker. The office of President has changed much since my father's days, and I am eager to demonstrate it. | ” |
—Dietrich[1] |
The current CEO of Graves-Meyer Steelworks, Gearwinder Dietrich Meyer succeeded his father, Bladekeeper Hermann Meyer, after the latter’s resignation due to public backlash after the War of Fire. Dietrich won the people’s hearts by promising a new age for the Vuurstahl Empire, where arms manufacturing would become just a small fraction of what they could offer the world, even casting off his family title in favor of a new assignment: the Gearwinder. His policies of post-war diversification pulled the Vuurstahl economy out of the steep nosedive it took after the sanctions imposed by the Tempestian Union, and while many are still wary of the company that caused the war in the first place, his commitment to this new era has given him one of the highest approval ratings for a CEO in recent history.
