Leafshaper Eli Meir, along with his wife Sapir, is the current CEO of Ironleaf Foundry. He is known as one of the most conscientious members of the Board of Directors, with Ironleaf continuing to fund the public parks and conservatories Eli’s ancestors were known for before the founding of Ironleaf by his father, and a good amount of their income given to other charitable causes. Though many from the outside have assumed their marriage to be arranged, like most on the Board, to bring Sapir’s talents to Ironleaf’s conservatories, those close to them know this could be nothing further from the truth– Eli and Sapir fell in love and married in spite of their family’s wishes, rather than for their sake. While Ironleaf continues to be a profitable endeavor, their unique and often unorthodox designs continuing to dig out a niche in the war machine market, Eli still faces pressure from the rest of the Board. After all, if he cannot find a suitable suitor for his wayward daughter, the Leafshaper title is in danger of being lost altogether– or worse, leaving their family.
Eli himself is known for his jolly demeanor, and is in many ways a mirror of his daughter’s frequent absentmindedness; though he’s an accomplished engineer and botanist, he has a habit of misplacing things while occupied, or forgetting important documents until the last second. Still, the Leafshaper title, young though it may be, still commands respect in Vuurstahl, and both engineers and botanists under his leadership have very little to say against him… despite his incorrigible punning habit.
