If the land now called Tivluk had a traditional name, it has long since been lost to history. For most of its history, however, it was a battleground between Vuurstahl and Vruikt Barr, as both sides fought to bring its fecund ground into their nations to secure their agriculture. Though the balance of power eventually fell in favor of the Empire due to their advancing technology, the closest they would come to a decisive victory against Vruikt Barr until the War of Fire, they had no interest in declaring the land an extension of the Imperial core. Instead, it was given a new name, Tivluk, and while the people within were now considered Imperial citizens, they did not enjoy the same level of comfort and privilege as those in the imperial core.
Now, Tivluk is a farming colony on the eastern side of the Vuurstahl Empire, and as such, most of its population is labor-class workers. Repeated monocrop farming has slowly made the soil more and more difficult to work with, leading to a dependence on imports of fertilizer from elsewhere in the Empire to keep the farms running, as a breakdown in Tivluk’s farms would have devastating effects on the food supply throughout the nation. Still, despite the hardships it faces, Tivluk’s focus on agriculture has made it one of the greenest imperial colonies, and it was once a popular getaway for those who want a breath of fresh air.
Tivluk is the colony closest to Vruikt Barr, and thus has shouldered most of the fallout, both literal and metaphorical, from the War of Fire’s devastating end. The constant threat of destructive magical radiation and straggling Engels, combined with the Tivluk’s tumultuous history with the two nations that bordered it, has led to an ever-growing number of protests and rebellions as the people in its borders seek to not just win back their land from the Empire, but finally have control of it for the first time in centuries. However, protests in Tivluk were put to a decisive end when the future Kingslayer seemingly killed their leader, the Wheelbreaker, in front of the rebels’ own eyes.
