Be careful out there. When it comes to war machines, the most expensive part to replace is the pilot, eh?

—Silas[1]

Former protege of Worldkiller Taranis Banes, Steelmolder Silas Blackrock was a man with a firm belief that the Tempestian Union’s post-war restrictions have crippled the Vuurstahl Empire unnecessarily. To that end, he headed many projects under Harrison Armory to revive relics from the war, and rework them into something more palatable for the modern era. Of course, with most of the projects of that era having their files destroyed, this required many a mission to retrieve the wreckage of the machines from Vruikt Barr to reverse-engineer from. All in the name of the Empire’s future, of course.

Silas's last project was an attempt to revive the Harrison Armory Enkidu that was used in the War of Fire to mitigate the Empire's issues with growing rebellions, sending the 113th Imperial Company to scour the ruins of Vruikt Barr for salvageable wreckage of one.[2] While the soldiers were dispatched and Silas was alone in his workshop[3], the Raven's Blades, through unknown means, infiltrated the Empire and executed him for his crimes against humanity.[4][5] His death made the Blades and their goals known to the world at large, shocking those in similar positions into increasing their security to keep the Blades at bay.

  2. Silas ignores Sieghild as he continues. "While they've all been unsuccessful, our efforts to stomp them out have been a waste of our time and resources. To that end, I've proposed a solution."
He pulls a device from his pocket, tossing it into the air, where it hovers, projecting an image of a war machine, its frame covered in tubes that pulse with a strange, burning liquid. "The Harrison Armory Enkidu. The Union forced us to destroy our records of its construction, but I can think of no better solution for... shall we say, crowd control. And I'm certain with the right adjustments, the Union will be willing to turn a blind eye to it." (Mission Log, 6/29/2023)

  5. "One other thing in the reports: something unusual found at the scene." [Lucia]'s quiet for a moment, closing her eyes as if to focus. "...A black feather." (Mission Log, 9/7/2023)
